The Physician’s Prayer, often attributed to the medieval Jewish physician and philosopher Maimonides (Rambam), expresses the healer’s desire to treat patients with wisdom, compassion, humility, and clarity of judgment. Although the exact authorship is debated, modern scholars believe it may have been written later by 19th-century German Jewish physician Markus Herz, yet it has become deeply rooted in Jewish medical and spiritual tradition.
